LLB Law – (Hons)

Why study this course?

The LLB (Hons) is a degree that enables you to explore a diverse range of optional subjects while meeting the Qualifying Law Degree requirements for training as a solicitor or barrister. Throughout the course, you’ll develop your knowledge of key areas of English and European Union law and human rights, as well as valuable transferable skills. You’ll also benefit from access to activities including mooting, the Mansfield Law Society, employment fairs and expert speakers.

On this Bachelor’s of Law (LLB) degree you’ll gain a detailed understanding of legal rules, their contexts and application, as well as developing transferable skills in communication, independent research, teamwork and public speaking.

The expert teaching team have numerous links to employers, professional bodies and international organisations. In addition, you’ll benefit from high-quality classroom teaching enhanced by an online learning environment, academic skills support, mentoring, and careers guidance including workshops, fairs and work placements. There’s also a lively programme of events and outside speakers organised through the Mansfield Law Society – the president of which is a Supreme Court judge.

Professional accreditation

This course is recognised as a Qualifying Law Degree for progression to the Legal Practice Course (solicitors) or the Bar Professional Training Course (barristers).

Where this course can take you

Many LLB graduates go on to train as a solicitor or barrister. As well as qualifying you for this next stage of training, the course also opens the door to many other graduate careers, including roles in business, media, voluntary organisations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
